Happy Mothers Day,

I just ordered from Maule the new Modular designed instrument panels to replace my old holly ones in my 1977 M-5.

Has anybody done this yet out in the field, if so anything you'd do different?

Also been in touch with Carbon Concepts for a replacement glare shield, Will get that ordered once they get back from some fly-ins and do that at the same time.

Alan

Thanks for the pricing information. I have all 3 new pieces for an original instrument panel. I guess I'll have to sell them and order the new setup.

Hi Maulem5,

Can you post a picture , the old instrument panel versus a new one , how does it look , how does the exchange work, do you keep a narrow strip of the old metal to bolt a new dash on top?

Do these parts appear on the Maule M5 parts dvd?

Fedex is delivering the new setup tomorrow. I will post pics of what they look like.

Hi Pretty Mauled. The new modular panels will not appear in the DVD yet as it is a very new approval. Maybe on V. 1.9

Duane
The two arched spacers that look like it could be a doubler, Are they for holding the shape of the frames as you install them, or are they used some other way? The drawing doesn't show them.

That's right. They are there to support the frame as you install it. You can call and talk to David Maule and he can explain how they are used.

Is there a drawing available for the panel? Accurate enough so if build one, it will actually fit when I make a new one?

Hi Alan,

Just wondering how the new panel install went. I’m getting ready to order the new frames and panels for my 87 M235C.

Did you end up getting a new glare shield from Carbon Concepts? If so are you satisfied with it?

Thank you,

Gary
