Maintenance manual for MXT-7-180A

Post by 22Tango »

Hi Maule drivers,

I have the parts DVD and maintenance manual (version C) for my Maule. One would think that the manual that was current at the time the plane was made would be the one to use to maintain the aircraft, but CAA in NZ disagree and require the latest version of the maintenance manual. So I am on the search for a copy of the MXT-7-180A maintenance manual version G. Really appreciate if anyone can share a copy.

I contacted Maule factory and they pointed me to Veryon (ex ATP I think), however, I have been unable to pass the point where the website says it is setting up an account.

Plane is stuck in its annual until I satisfy NZ CAA. :(

Cheers
Andrew

That’s interesting. This is an oft-misunderstood rule in the U.S. Many A&Ps here also believe that they must use the most recent revision of the manuals, while in reality, all that is required per the regs is to use a manual that was current and up-to-date as of the date of manufacture of the airplane. I wonder if a similar dynamic exists in New Zealand?

It’s always nice to use the most recent version when it’s available, but…

Hi Andy,

I understand the regs in the US only require manual that was current when plane was made. The NZ CAA, in their wisdom, have decided that the latest manual is required. I guess the a way to avoid this is to change aircraft model designations with manual changes :-)

Anyway, it seems a bit crazy to spent $$$$ every few years for a new manual that doesn't add any value.

Cheers

22Tango,

Being somewhat type A, after Maule went to the ATP format, I bought a subscription. Unfortunately it does not cover your model. It was not an easy process getting it set up and after several failed attempts to navigate their website I emailed the support folks and within a day or two they sent a reply with step-by-step instructions.

As far as the M7-235C goes there has not been an update since 2020.

Good Luck
Tim

Hello,

the same seems to be required in Europe (EASA), you don't have to have an active subscription but you need to have access to latest maintenance and flight manuals.

Best Regards

Hi

I managed to get sorted. Many thanks for suggestions.

I am, however, still trying to work out Veryon. They really don't seem keen to help. It seems an overly complex system for the average Maule owner.

cheers

Hello,

I got my account registered at Veryon by local reseller (aviation parts shop, https://air-service.com.pl/pl/i/Subskrypcje-Veryon/15), and my payments/invoicing are also processed by this reseller, even if payment is direct to Veryon. Quite twisted.

Hi tango
I’m looking at a mx7 ZK MUL, if I go ahead with it I imagine I’ll be in the same boat.
Keen to hear how you get on with manuals etc and who you use for maintenance?
