CAF AirPower History tour visit
The Commemorative Air Force tour was in town this past weekend so I decided to stop by and finally check out the B-29 in person and listen to some radial engine music.
Although I could have driven over in less time, I was already out flying so I dropped in. Was great to pull up right next to the action, in a way it was like having a back-stage pass to the event.
Lots of beautiful aircraft to see and more runway than the Maule knew what to do with.
Here is a short video/slide show of my visit:

I love those old birds. Used to go and see them every chance I got while living in Texas. Was that a Helldiver I saw taxi by!? Not something you see every day even when you seek it out!
The Maule looked GOOD in that company!

You have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming a pilot. You can't do both!

That's great! And I thought the Maule looked small next to the Mustang, that is some real heavy metal you have in the background.TomD wrote:Don't know about the CAF but USAF guys were asking about using 9181E as a sort of air dinghy

Once we got out of the customs box, that is where I am in the picture, they put me on a display line ( bunch of general aviation birds for the public to look at) and across from me was a C-5A and just to the right was anotherThat's great! C-17 ( the first one the Canadian Air Force received).
I now know how the Lilliputians felt.
