Always tough to watch the local news attempt to report an event like this. My best to the pilot for a speedy recovery.

According to his mother, he is badly hurt. This is a high-time Maule pilot flying into a familiar field.

That sucks...

Glad he will be OK.

Looks like may have been a stall in landing configuration.

Given the wind I wonder if it was a shear situation.

I was about 10 miles from there when it happened. I hate to speculate but looking at the photos in the newspapers, the left gear was collapsed, the left wing severely damaged, and the nose hit at a pretty high speed. The winds were pretty high. Could it have been a ground loop, or maybe the wheel hit an obstruction.

Ouch! That bird is bent. Bet is legs are in bad shape. Hope he makes a speedy recovery!
You have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming a pilot. You can't do both!

Looks like he stalled it in from 15-20ft or more. Looks like a crash I saw in Albuquerque awhile back.

"It looks like" is out and "we think" is in, as one of the guys said in the video! Hope the young man make a full recovery.

"We think he was attempting to land." Folks are pretty astute down those parts.

Never nice to see. Hope pilot makes a speedy recovery.
